Competition: win one of a selection of limited-edition prizes when you pre-order A Modern Way to Live

To celebrate our co-founder Matt Gibberd’s soon-to-be-released book, A Modern Way to Live, we’ve teamed up with publisher Penguin Life to offer you a chance to win one of a selection of limited-edition pieces when you pre-order a copy. These include a merino wool blanket, a city bag made from deadstock fabrics and a hand-cut lino print by Toogood.

Prize One: The Modern House merino wool blanket

The Modern House merino wool blanket, woven with a custom check print, is our take on a sofa-side staple. The reversible pattern was inspired by the use of hand-drawn lines to create shade, tone and texture in architectural diagrams. The blanket was woven exclusively for The Modern House by makers in Bristol.

Prize Two: a bag for modern living

The limited-edition city tote is made in collaboration with British clothing label Folk. The bag embodies our shared values of good, simple design, functional beauty and quality, responsible craftsmanship. Applying the care and attention of an artisan maker, Folk have worked with a Somerset leather factory to craft a small batch of the bags, and used deadstock fabrics in its production.

Prize Three: The Barn Bird linocut print

The Barn Bird linocut print has been hand-cut and printed in the studio of Toogood, the namesake design practice of Faye Toogood. The print exemplifies Toogood’s love of design and craftsmanship and looks beautiful framed in the home. It is of a limited edition of 100.
