To mark the launch of issue No.3 of The Modern House Magazine, we are hosting a two-day pop-up shop and photography exhibition at our headquarters in Southwark, London SE1, on Friday 8th October between 10am and 5pm, and Saturday 9th October between 10am and 4pm. Drop by, say hello to our team and pick up a copy of our latest issue.

On display will be originally commissioned works from issue No.3 by landscape photographer Catherine Hyland, who we tasked with exploring place and identity in the British Isles this summer. Catherine’s work makes subtle investigations into human interactions with landscape, with the final images often defined by their sense of epic scale; their blurring of real and surreal elements and their quiet beauty. Often shooting in locations such as China and Jordan, Catherine’s native Britain was a land far less explored by her until this summer, and evident throughout the project is a search of self-discovery in her homeland, one that takes in industrial landscapes, national parks loved by tourists and the dramatic beauty of the Isle of Skye.

What better place to purchase your copy of issue No.3 than at our headquarters? Our editorial team will be there to say hello and talk through the stories we are excited to share with you. We will also have items from our online shop available to purchase, including our bag collaboration with Folk, copies of issue No.2, The Modern House book and items for the home. Popping-up will also be brands featured in issue No.3, including jewellery brand Alighieri, whose founder Rosh Mahtani opened the doors to her Clerkenwell home for this issue, and Junior Adesanya’s incense brand, Cremate London.
