Stylist Monikh Dale on her slice of heaven in Wandsworth, south-west London

Monikh Dale knows what looks good. As a fashion stylist, she has an eye for pairing the right prints, sourcing the best pieces and fine-tuning the trends. Her Instagram account – approaching 250k followers – frequently profiles attire from her own wardrobe, which we got to rummage through when discovering her Seven Wonders of the home. While visiting Monikh for our film series, we found that her house in Wandsworth, south-west London, which she shares with her husband and daughter, is every bit as considered as her closet.

Monikh’s home is best described as a reflection of her personal style: it’s simple without being minimal, layered with thoughtful investments and vibrant finishes. The interiors and outdoor spaces, which include a tiled courtyard and rooftop garden, draw more parallels with places you might come across in the Mediterranean than south-west London: there’s the rustic dining table that calls for convivial dining, the lampshade sourced from Morocco and some beautiful olive trees. “Once you’re here for a couple of hours, you forget it’s Wandsworth,” she says, standing outside. “When the sky is blue it feels like our secret villa.”

No corner of Monikh’s abode has been left unloved. It’s important, she says, to create features out of those spaces people pass through, such as the stairs and hallway. In this instance, she’s hung a pink-hued graphic painting by Studio Lenca on the wall. But her home is one of comfort and function too – after all, a young family lives here. “I’ve made a lot of sofa mistakes in the past. I always went for visuals,” she reveals. “Now I’ve had the baby I have to consider her as well.” Her choice of soft rose, for example, has removable covers that mean both Monikh and her friends can relax with the children. “It really works for our lifestyle,” say says.
