West St Studio is an architecture and design studio established by Jack Hughes in 2019 following 10 years working on nationally significant buildings for some of the UK’s leading residential and urban design practices.

The studio is based in Hastings, East Sussex, and works across a broad range of sectors and scales including furniture design, refurbishment, new build, public realm and masterplanning and has considerable experience both in residential design, and working with listed buildings, in Conservation Areas, and other sensitive settings.

Designs are developed through an understanding of context and place to respond to the client’s individual aspirations and needs with an emphasis on simple, cost-effective buildings, imaginative spatial planning, and a clear expression of materials.
