Richard Bell is an award-winning architect and designer whose works range in scale from small studio living spaces to some of London’s most valuable homes. No matter the size of a project, Richard’s approach is one of rigorous simplicity, designing spaces and objects that possess a calm elegance, with an emphasis on simple forms and the careful selection of materials. The delicate control of light, both natural and artificial, is fundamental in his work; the light is celebrated and the darkness indulged, creating spaces with a gentle drama and a quiet intensity.

Fascinated by the craft of architecture, Richard collaborates closely with specialists and artisans who bring the passion for their discipline to a design project. Listening to and working with these craftspeople – be they stonemasons, leatherworkers, cabinetmakers or highly skilled builders – has built a detailed knowledge of material and process that informs his work.

In 2018 Richard won the Dezeen Awards for his project London Spa. In the same year he was the runner-up in the Young Architect of the Year Awards.
