Maud & Mabel

Launched in 2012, Maud & Mabel is a tranquil shopping sanctuary in Hampstead Village, London. It is dedicated to the subtle and the thoughtfully crafted. Maud & Mabel features a carefully curated selection of beautiful everyday objects – crafted from clay, cloth, or wood – produced by over forty pioneering artists and makers from the UK, Scandinavia, Italy and Japan.

The gallery’s current portfolio is diverse, featuring the work of renowned artists such as Akiko Hirai, Kenta Anzai, Jack Doherty, Anna Silverton and Sophie Cook. Maud & Mabel is inspired by ‘Shibumi’ – a collection of Japanese design principles which favour unobtrusive beauty and prioritise subtlety and purity. Most importantly, the gallery believes in uniting contemporary craft with elegant design, and in marrying the old with the new.
