Harty and Harty

Based in London and Wiltshire, Harty and Harty was re-established in 2015 by partners Annabelle and Stephen Harty, who studied at The Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow and The Bartlett, London. Both partners like to work closely with their clients, and develop each project by sketching, model making, cooking, eating and talking around tables. Contemporary art, twentieth-century design, teaching and travel lie at the core of how the practice thinks. Specialising mainly in residential projects in both an urban and rural context, the practice designs new builds and are also experienced in working with old buildings. They were finalists in the BD Architects of the Year Award 2018 and Building Magazine Awards 2018 for an Artist Studio in Norfolk. The latest project is a new studio building for the practice in Wiltshire.

The Modern House Says
"Stephen and Annabelle are architects who have that simple but rare understanding that buildings should be designed for the people that live in them."
