Focus

Focus is based in the foothills of the Cevennes, South of France, where their fireplaces have been made for the last 50 years. Their designs are iconic; the original fireplace, the Gyrofocus, has been used on thousands of projects around the world and specified by some of the most illustrious names in Architecture from Foster & Partners to Snøhetta.

Focus was founded by sculptor Dominique Imbert who still runs the company. They recently celebrated selling their 60,000th fireplace – testament to the quality of the products. There are 70 designs now in the portfolio with around half being gas and the other half wood burning. They have an R&D department that is looking into ways to become more energy efficient and have already designed several models to suit Passivhaus and low energy buildings plus a DEFRA approved Slimfocus fireplace for use in the UK.

The Modern House Says
"That iconic suspended fireplace you’ve seen everywhere but never knew who made? Focus is behind it. "
