CommonRoom

CommonRoom aims to make high-quality art accessible to the many rather than the few. They commission original wallpaper designs from contemporary artists, as well as producing archival designs that commemorate the great history of artist wallpapers. CommonRoom’s work is designed to challenge and excite. Just like every great artwork.

All of CommonRoom’s products are made sustainably in the UK, supporting British manufacturing and minimising carbon footprint. They are also partners with Ecologi, who plant a tree for every roll of wallpaper sold.

Their archival range includes collaborations with the V&A, such as their inaugural ‘Lioness & Palms’ design and their newest wallpaper and border collection, ‘Silk Stripe’ by C.F.A Voysey (1918). They also produced a collection taken from Mr Kilburn’s Calicos – a book of watercolours by William Kilburn, one of the most celebrated textile artists of the 18th century – as well as ‘Wave’ (1929) by the great British artist Edward Bawden. CommonRoom has a range of contemporary wallpapers by artists including The Grantchester Pottery, Susie Green, Abi Ola, and Fee Greening. They also carry a limited-edition print collection from their roster of artists.

The Modern House Says
"Wallpaper elevated to an art form, quite literally."
