This beautifully presented two-bedroom apartment is situated on the second floor of Forest Lodge, a little-known 1930s building on the gentle slopes of Dartmouth Road in Forest Hill.

Oriented in an east-west direction, the apartment is flooded with natural light; the kitchen catches the morning sun whilst the reception room is bathed with afternoon light. As with many flats of the era, the corridor runs centrally, allowing the rooms to benefit from large windows and natural light.

There are two equal-sized bedrooms, a bright living room and a separate kitchen that has access to a private balcony overlooking the leafy communal garden. The bathroom has been minimally decorated and is equipped with a shower over the bath.

The current owners have renovated the flat to an exemplary standard, remodelling the kitchen and bathroom, and restoring the original floorboards. The kitchen has been individually designed by  designer Toby Mower, mixing ply-edged lino worktops, deep green unit fronts and pale pink walls.

The pavement in front of the building has been recently been redesigned to create a more usable pedestrian area with planting and bike racks.

Forest Hill has become an extremely popular area of south-east London with the help of the London Overground extension. As a result, there are plenty of very good independent cafes, restaurants and pubs in the area. Forest Lodge is located between Forest Hill and Sydenham, and is well placed for the shops and restaurants of Dulwich Village and East Dulwich, as well as the open spaces of Sydenham woods and Dulwich Park. The Horniman Museum and Gardens, with its weekend farmer’s market, is nearby. The V22 Collective, opposite Forest Lodge, houses a number of artist studios and a community library.

The nearest station is Forest Hill, running London Overground services to Highbury & Islington via Shoreditch High Street and Canada Water (for connections to the Jubilee Line). Southern Trains runs direct services to London Bridge with a journey time of around 20 minutes.
