To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Frank Lloyd Wright’s birth in 1867, we’ve been reading the seminal collection of his lectures at the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1939. Originally published as An Organic Architecture, the volume presents the four lectures that were borne out of efforts to strengthen Anglo-American ties in culture and the sciences after the First World War. They were hailed at the time as the most remarkable events of recent architectural affairs in England.

The new anniversary edition includes an insightful essay by architectural historian Andrew Saint, and a selection of stills from the films Wright showed of his life and buildings in the lectures.

An Organic Architecture is published by Lund Humphries.
