A collaborative project between the Twentieth Century Society and architectural journalist Pamela Buxton, ’50 Architects 50 Buildings’ asks 50 leading contemporary architects to identify the buildings that have made a lasting impact on them and their work. In doing so, the book offers a survey of the buildings from around the globe which have had a formative impact on architecture today.

The book covers a broad spectrum of buildings from work spaces and places of worship, to public and cultural buildings. With two sections on residential architecture – both individual houses, and housing developments – the project also offers a fascinating snapshot into the houses and apartments which have (and continue to) inspire contemporary projects. We’ve selected some of our favourites here.

The book will be published by Batsford next month. Pre-order it here.
