Our recent interview with SCP founder Sheridan Coakley is a masterclass in mid-century style (see his remarkable Hampshire home here). Taking inspiration from Sheridan, we’ve selected five properties that are currently on the market with us, with elegant and engaging mid-century interiors.

Heath Road, Barming, Kent
This immaculately maintained single-storey house was designed by the current owners in the early 1970s, and contrasts dark wooden floors with white walls and exposed brick. The Arco Floor Lamp is at the heart of the open-plan living area, whilst at the far end is a slightly raised dining room, clad in wonderfully rich rosewood.

Osier Court, London E1
This apartment combines a striking Art Deco exterior with finessed mid-century interiors. London-based Norwegian design studio Hunting and Narud have re-imagined the space with a wonderful blend of playful aestheticism and practical functionalism.

The Hall, London SE3
This apartment sits within Blackheath’s Cator Estate and was designed and built by Eric Lyon’s renowned development company, Span, in the 1950s. Many of the property’s original features have been retained, including the original vinyl tiling in the living room. The current owner has selected pieces of mid-century furniture to complement the interior, including an iconic Eames Rocking Chair.

The Sugden House, Watford, Hertfordshire
Designed by the celebrated architects Alison and Peter Smithson in 1955 this house has extraordinarily-preserved original mid-century interiors. The design combines functionality with a reverence for materials, offset, again, by the inclusion of mid-century design classics including the Eames Wire Chair.

Langham House Close, Richmond, London TW10
This apartment sits within the sought-after Langham House Close development, constructed in the late 1950s. This exceptionally light apartment has been carefully curated by its current owners in keeping with its mid-century heritage. A vibrant set of Eames DSR Chairs are gathered around the dining table, over which hangs as Verner Panton Flowerpot Pendant.
