HOUSE OF THE WEEK: House at Ryusenji by Tomoaki Uno Architects

More artwork than house, this three-room home by Tomoaki Uno Architects in Nagoya, Japan, has no windows on its elevations and is dimly lit by two light wells that penetrate through the building’s bare concrete structure. The house comprises a living room and bathroom on the double height ground floor and then a bedroom on the mezzanine floor. The stark interior concrete walls continue outside where the only opening is a solid metal entrance door on the side.
