The Manser Practice

The Manser Practice was founded in 1961 by Michael Manser, who built an initial reputation for designing award-winning modern houses, a number of which are now listed. The Manser Practice continues to deliver elegant, modern homes for private clients, where a limited palette of materials is used simply, with consistent and crisp detailing.

In 2014 the practice commissioned a book about the history of these houses, describing the link between Michael Manser’s modernist influences and his desire to create more intimate family homes than his predecessors. It also explores the struggles Michael and the current practice has had to deliver simple, elegant houses on difficult sites and in conservative areas.
