A powerhouse of craft, Benchmark is one of the UK’s leading furniture makers. Founded by Terence Conran and Sean Sutcliffe in 1984, the company has a mission to create furniture that contributes to human health and well-being, using natural, sustainable and non-toxic materials.

Their product range includes recent collaborations with Foster + Partners, Space Copenhagen and David Rockwell, with many pieces available to be customised to a client’s desired size or configuration.

Holding enviable sustainability credentials (they’ve won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development twice), Benchmark has a client and collaborator list that includes many of the world’s leading architects and designers. From workshops in the Berkshire and Dorset countryside, Sean’s team take on diverse commissions, from individual pieces of furniture for private homes to the fit-out of hotels, offices and major cultural institutions.
