Architect: Moxon Architects
This wonderfully bright, detached house, originally designed in the 1930s and refurbished in 2014 by award-winning architects Moxon, is superbly located along a tranquil stretch of the River Thames, in desirable East Twickenham.
Internal accommodation extends to approximately 1711 sq ft and is arranged as four bedrooms, a living room, kitchen with dining area and lounge, study and three bathrooms. There is also a summer house, large front and back gardens, and parking for several cars.
Entry to the raised ground floor is via a spacious hallway with storage and a separate WC. To the left is a living room, and bedroom with a pulldown ‘Murphy’ bed and en suite shower room. To the right of the hall is a large open plan kitchen with oak parquet flooring, Silestone worktops and Bertazzoni appliances. A wood burner separates the dining area from a lounge, which in turn leads through glazed sliding doors to sandstone steps and a large sun terrace. A long, mature garden extends to approximately 80 ft, at the end of which is a fully insulated guest/summer house with its own courtyard.
Stairs to the first floor retain an original 1930s wood balustrade. The master bedroom has a balcony overlooking the rear garden and an en suite bathroom with walk-in shower. There are two further bedrooms, a study and a family bathroom.
Ducks Walk runs parallel with a peaceful stretch of the Thames, between the bridges of Richmond and Twickenham. It was famously the setting of The Beatles penultimate photo session which took place between what was once The Madingley Club, and Corporation Island. The house itself is located approximately ten minutes’ walk from Richmond centre which has an abundance of excellent shops, restaurants and pubs.
St. Margaret’s station is around twelve minutes’ walk and runs train services to London Waterloo every 15 minutes. Richmond station is approximately seventeen minutes’ walk and is serviced by the District Line. It is also on the Overground network, with direct trains to North London and Stratford International.
