Situated on the stunning island of Favignana, four miles west of the coast of Sicily, this house is a modernist retreat offering both luxury and a sense of wildness.

Designed by Ncbarchitettura – a practice owned by architects Riccardo Emanuele and Samuel Balasso Milan – and completed in 2011, the house is made up of two independent apartments with a central terrace that unites the two areas.

Internally, there are three bedrooms (two double and one twin) and one pull-out double couch, which can accommodate an additional two guests. There are three bathrooms, two of which are ensuite, two kitchen areas and two living rooms. The aesthetic throughout is simple yet luxurious, with large windows and doors allowing the outside in.

Externally, there are extensive areas of wild garden, as well as a barbecue area, beautiful swimming pool, parking area, and two roof terraces. The property is not overlooked and has wonderful views of the sea, which is approximately 200m away, and the surrounding countryside.

Favignana is one of the Aegadian Islands, approximately four miles west of the coast of Sicily, between Trapani and Marsala. The island is famous for its tuna fisheries and is now a popular tourist destination, with frequent hydrofoil connections to the mainland. Favignana centre is the nearest town, where there are many great bars and restaurants. There are many local sporting and leisure activities including snorkelling, scuba diving, trekking, and cycling, as well cultural and shopping opportunities.

Direct flights from Gatwick to Palermo, or from Stansted to Palermo and Trapani Birgi. Domestic flights run from Milan and Rome to Palermo.
A helicopter from Palermo can get you to the property in 20 minutes, or from Trapani Birgi in five minutes.
Alternatively transfer by Siciltranfert (taxi) to Trapani, then hydrofoil to Favignana from Trapani (20 minutes). Guests will be met by the manager of the property at the port and taken to the house.
