Architect: Nikitas Hatzimichalis

Grove Villa, Mani, Greece
Sleeps 8

From approx £1,500
per week

The villa was designed by the award-winning Greek architect Nikitas Hatzimichalis and completed in 2015.

Property
The villa has light steel and transparent glass elements, highlighting the stone volumes and allowing the boundary between inside and outside to melt. The transparency of glass and the industrial character of the metal structures, in dialogue with the massive stone blocks, creates tensions and interesting spaces. Meanwhile, local materials such as stone, wood and marble hint at the vernacular of the traditional Greek villa.

Accommodation
The main space includes a large living room, dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. There are two double bedrooms one of which is en suite, as well as two further bedrooms with twin beds. There are also two more bathrooms. Next to the twin rooms is a relaxation area, containing a number of pouffes.

The villa has a private swimming pool and a covered outdoor area, and is  surrounded by olive trees and gardens.

The property includes WiFi, a daily maid service, fully equipped kitchen, fresh towels and linen (twice weekly), deckchairs with pool towels, parking, and hair dryers.

Location
The villa is located in an olive grove, overlooking the Messenian Bay to the south and the mountain of Taygetos to the north. The location offers privacy and seclusion for its guests.

The Mani Peninsula is an area rich in heritage: there are a number of twelfth century Byzantine churches, as well as mountain villages and unspoiled beaches.

The closest town to the villa is Stoupa (3 km), which is next to the popular beach Kalogria with cold sweet water springs and crystal clear water.

Kardamili is another local picturesque local village, approximately 10 km away from the villa. It is good for shopping, eating and drinking,

Other local activities include swimming, hiking and olive picking.
