Trevor Dannatt

Trevor Dannatt is one of the most important figures in British Modernism. He studied at the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Architecture, before joining the renowned Maxwell Fry / Jane Drew practice. His early career included work on the Royal Festival Hall in London. He formed his own practice in 1952, then established Dannatt Johnson Architects in 1994 with David Johnson. Dannatt’s influence has not only been felt through his celebrated buildings but also his extensive writing, editing and teaching, as well as his involvement in the Arts – he curated such formative exhibitions as “20th Century Form” at the Whitechapel Gallery (1953).
