Ian McChesney

Ian McChesney is a south London based architect and designer and in 2001 he established the practice Ian McChesney. The studio works across a broad range of projects including private homes, furniture and sculpture, and in particular they focus on special projects in sensitive locations that require close attention to detail and innovative thinking.

Ian McChesney was born in Glasgow in 1971, studied at Kingston University and then at the Royal College of Art in London. Between 1995 and 2001 he worked in the office of John McAslan + Partners on projects for Thames and Hudson and the Royal Academy of Music. Ian is a visiting critic at various schools of architecture and was a recent external examiner at Oxford Brookes University. Ian has been actively involved in formal design review roles for Southwark, and Design Southeast.
